Vacationers who dream of dollar signs when they fall asleep at night may be interested in spending a few of their Martinique vacation hours inside an island casino.
Martinique is not one of the Caribbean's top gambling hot spots, but gambling is legal on the island, so those looking to try their hand in a game of luck have the possibility to do so.
There are two casinos on Martinique. In order to enter into a casino on the island, you must be 18-years-of-age, and present photo identification. Each facility has a cover charge to get in and a dress code.
Casino Batelière Plaza is located just outside of Fort-de-France in a plantation style house. The Batelière Plaza opens each day at 10 a.m., but only for slots in the salon. Table games begin at 7:30 p.m., when a dress code of jacket and tie for men and dresses for women is in affect. The cover charge is EUR 10.
The Casino Trois-Ilets is the newer of the two Martinique casinos, and has been decorated to evoke the spirit of New Orlean's French Quarter. Casino Trois-Ilets is open from 10 a.m. until 3 a.m., and there are 70 slot machines and numerous game tables. There is a restaurant and live music on the weekends.
