Big Bay Beach

This beach on the eastern coast of Mayaguana is a quiet little place to get away for some line fishing, shelling, or simply for a nice stroll. It's a simple place with little in the way of facilities, but if you're already on the island, then the isolation of it is probably just what you're looking for.

Located on the island of Mayaguana, near Abrams Bay, You might want to drop by regardless of whether you're staying nearby. Vacationers will notice that, while Big Bay Beach is certainly not secluded, you also wouldn't call it particularly popular. It's the perfect choice for families who want to make the most of their trip to the beach but wish to stay away from the most populated spots.

How to Access The Beach
The beach is located north of Betsy Bay. Access by taking the island's main road east as far as it will go. You can't help but run right up next to the ocean.

Amenities and Ambiance

At this remote spot, you might get a chance to see the mailboat that comes in once a week to this small island. The beach curves ever so slightly against this small, remote island's easternmost coast.

Please note that public restrooms are not available, which is something to consider if you plan to spend a full day in the sun.

Big Bay Beach grants an idyllic and serene experience, especially since the region surrounding the beach is far from urbanized.

Set on the West coast of Mayaguana. Accommodations nearby include the Baycaner Beach Resort, which is one of the closest lodging options reachable from Big Bay Beach, despite there not being too many other popular spots close-by.

The number of other vacationers sharing this coastline can vary widely, depending on everything from the time the sun sets to how full nearby hotel rooms are. This beach is not near many large hotels, but it's often visited by guests from some of the area's smaller options.

Food

You might not find any places to eat right on this beach, so you might want to plan a picnic if you want to fully enjoy your time spent at the beach.
