Mayaguez is not a town where there are beaches within walking distance of your hotel. Instead, it will require a rental car or a trusted taxi driver to get your a few miles down the way to find some of the area's top beaches. Corcega Beach: The soft, tan sands of Corcega Beach stretch on seemingly for miles as the beautiful turquoise waters lap the shore. Out at sea there is reef just 50 yards off shore, while back on land a cement boat on a small rock cliff serves as a local landmark.
Another alternative that beach-goers can consider is Buyé Beach. A dirt road leads to Buye Beach, where parking is $3(USD) per vehicle.
Rincon Beach: With such a variety of beaches and surf conditions, Rincon is perfect for just about everything. Swim and snorkel in the calm shallow waters, or gather sea shells along the shore.
