Conch Bar Caves

Named for the nearby village of Conch Bar, Conch Bar Caves is the largest above water cave system in the Turks and Caicos, and the Bahamas as well.

Hidden within the system of caves are underground lakes,and Lucayan Indian artifacts protected by the stalactites and stalagmites that jut from the ceiling and the ground. A colony of bats make their home within the caves, but they are known to be harmless.

Located on the western outskirts of Conch Bar, Conch Bar Caves invites local residents and vacationers rooming in this village or in the surrounding area. Whether or not you're staying in the vicinity, you should consider dropping by to enjoy a great time. It is east of Grace Bay.

There are just enough dining choices in the neighborhood near the cave to keep visitors satisfied. Mudjin Bar & Grill, which serves Caribbean meals, is also the closest restaurant to the cave. The restaurant is a small distance away, but distant enough that you might want to make plans for taking advantage of some type of transportation to visit there. Also within a short distance, you and your party will encounter options including Last Chance Bar and Grill and Super D letting you be picky as you choose between a number of dining options.

There are no official operating hours for the Conch Bar Caves, and the entrance remains gated when tours are not in session. It is best to call ahead and book a tour.

Cost

For a tour of the caves that lasts approximately one hour you will be expected to pay between $10 and $15(USD).
