Bucaneer Beach

Though many believe Bucaneer Beach to be a part of the Bucaneer Beach Resort property, it is in fact a public beach. Stop by for a day of sun bathing or body surfing -- you won't be sorry you did.

Located on the outer parts of Montego Bay, a mile and a half north of the downtown area, Bucaneer Beach is on the North West edge of Jamaica. You should consider dropping by whether or not you are staying particularly close by. If you can't wait to escape the stresses of city life, you'll appreciate that many of Jamaica's beaches are quiet and undisturbed. Of course, some vacationers come to Jamaica looking for activity, and are much more likely to visit Bucaneer Beach, which has a wider range of amenities nearby.

How to Access The Beach
Buccaneer Beach is set off Norman Manely Boulevard and The Queens Drive, just behind AirPort Norwood. For easiest access, take Norman Manely to Kent Ave, and follow it to the shore.

Amenities and Ambiance

Bucaneer Beach enjoys soft, white to grey sand and turquoise waters. The waves are not quite calm, yet not too strong that a novice swimmer couldn't step into the sea.

Unfortunately, restrooms will not be available here, so those of you traveling with small children may want to consider another spot.

You should remember that the area surrounding Bucaneer Beach is visited by quite a number of tourists, so factor that into your plans.
