Balcony House Museum

This museum is housed in what is believed to be the oldest house on the island. Today it offers a look back into the early period of Nassau and to see how daily life was for some.


Some out-of-towners believe that it is valuable to study as much relative to the culture and history of the country they are visiting as is available, and Balcony House Museum renders that chance. Taking the lead among the numerous displays at this institution, patrons may notice a grouping of permanent exhibits. These are this museum's constant displays.

It is hard to miss this bright pink and white rimmed house. Built in the 1700's, this colonial house shows the standard of living a well-off colonialist would have had.

There are a handful of nearby out-of-doors activities to enjoy during the times when you and your party aren't viewing Balcony House Museum . Visitors who are interested in showing their proficiency on the golf course, can do so at the closest golfing option, which is Albany Golf Course. If playing a few rounds of golf doesn't excite you, think about checking out Western Esplanade Beach, the closest beach. Also, your party may discover some extra beach and golf choices in the region. Operating Hours

The house opens Monday through Friday at 9:30am, and closes everyday except for Thursday at 4:30pm. On Thursday, the Balcony House stays ipen until 10:00pm.


Admission is free, though they do graciously accept donations.
