A tremendously popular beach mainly due to its close proximity to and easy access from Nassau's busy downtown, this has become a favorite stop for many spring breakers. With snack bars and restaurants close by, and reggae music booming from the speakers, this can be a fun place to hang out for a few hours, particularly if you're already in the area.

Situated on the outskirts of Nassau, a quarter mile west-northwest of the downtown area, Western Esplanade Beach is on the North East edge of New Providence. You might want regardless of whether you are staying in the immediate vicinity. Many of the other beaches in the Bahamas are known for being secluded spots, which offer tranquility and relaxation. While these qualities are undoubtedly perfect for some, busy vacationers may prefer something a little less out-of-the-way, like Western Esplanade Beach.

How to Access The Beach
The beach runs along West Bay Street, stretching westward from the British Colonial Hilton. There are a number of parking areas to choose from.

Amenities and Ambiance

The beach itself is what you picture when you think "beach in the Bahamas" - spectacularly white, powdery sand, clear blue-green water, and tropical trees to sit under for a little respite from the hot sun.

Unfortunately, you won't find any public restrooms along this coastline, but you may be able to find facilities at a nearby business.

Be mindful that the area surrounding Western Esplanade Beach is highly urbanized, so show up early.
