Legend has it that Bloody Bay got its name after a particularly bloody pirate battle took place her, but today you'll find more tourists on these shores than buccaneers. Because a large number of resorts edge out the beach, many people believe that sections of the beach are owned by the resort that sits in front of it. In actuality, Blood Bay is a public beach where clothing is optional and snorkeling is a favored pastime.

Positioned in Negril Beach Hotel Zone, 2.9 miles south west of Orange Bay, Bloody Bay is on the West coast of Jamaica. You might want to drop by regardless of whether you are staying in the vicinity. With its home in much-visited location, Bloody Bay is a good choice for beachgoers hoping to find various interesting activities and sites.

How to Access The Beach
Bloody Bay can be found just off Norman Manely Boulevard near the Negril Aerodome. Turn onto the side road at Breezes Grand Resort and Spa, and follow it right to the sand.

Amenities and Ambiance

Lined with sprawling resorts and bowed palm trees, Bloody Bay features white to tan sands speckled with colorful shells, and clear, calm azure waters. Not far off shore is a shallow coral reef structure.

Of course, you could always try the shoreside restaurant right on Bloody Bay, which is the ultimate convenience for beachgoers. Each country in the Caribbean has its own cuisine, and Jamaica is no different. One of the best places to experience the local specialties is right on the water. Did you know that some hotels are happy to pack picnic lunches for their guests? Otherwise, you could easily grab some of Jamaica's famous street food along the way.

If you're suddenly hungry or thirsty, the concession stand at Bloody Bay is the ultimate convenience.

Unfortunately, restrooms will not be available here, so if you're visiting with small children you might want to consider a different location. Fortunately, lounging chairs are available for guests looking for a break from the hot sun. Fortunately, the water here is clear and good for snorkeling, so bring your equipment if you want to do some underwater exploration.

Don't forget that the area right around Bloody Bay is a popular spot, meaning the availability of certain services is likely to be affected.
