In order to rent a car on Nevis you'll need to purchase a local driver's permit, which costs $24(USD) and is good for three months. No driving test is necessary and you can do this through your rental agency. The cost of a rental here ranges from $40 to $60(USD) a day, depending upon the type of car you rent, as well as if you add insurance.
As you look over the prices, imagine what kind of trip you will be having. A larger SUV may be great for driving down the rural eastern roads, but unneccesary if you plan on staying within Charlestown.
A few things to note before you hit the road: driving is done on the left side of the road like in Europe, seat belts are required by law, and the roads are not in the best condition, so be prepared to hit a few pot holes along the way.
Due to the fact that there are a limited number of places that sell gas around the area, you will want to check the list just below to better understand your options.
