Clifton Heritage Park

Clifton Heritage Park is a great way to get an overview of nature in the Bahamas. Whether you're interested in birdwatching, camping, fishing, snorkeling, or hiking, there is space to participate in all of these activities on site.

There are dozens of attractions within Clifton Heritage Park including the Great House, Clifton's Stone Wharf, Goulding Cay, Clifton's Beaches, Stone Steps, Carriage House, Johnstone Well, Sacred Space, and the Wetlands of Clifton. Also throughout the park, you will encounter 3.5 miles of historic stone walls.


Clifton Heritage Park is situated on the western part of the island of New Providence, 0.8 miles south west of Clifton Bay; it's to the west-southwest of Cable Beach.

If you get hungry during your park visit, don't worry -- you'll discover numerous choices of dining possibilities in this area. Beach Shack is an ideal locale to enjoy a meal at before visiting the outdoor park, and is close-by, making it a great option for visitors to it. Beach Shack is a short distance off, but far enough that you might want to arrange for using a means of transportation to get there. Also close-by, you and your companions will encounter options such as Mahogany House and Aviva so if you're lucky, at least one of these close by choices will humor the whole entire gang.

Travelers who enjoy outdoor parks, and would like to see others, should consider going to Bonefish Pond National Park and Harrold & Wilson Ponds National Park; the first is nine miles to the east of this park. There are at least one or two additional places of interest in the area, including Sacred Spaces: Women & Welcome, which is within driving distance on New Providence. You might want to also think about checking out Commonwealth Brewery, which is another attraction nearby.

The park has office hours from 9:00am to 5:00pm, and the park officially closes after sunset. However, you are allowed to launch and pickup boats after official hours at the boat ramp.
