Flipper Beach

Named because it was where the 1996 movie Flipper remake was shot, Flipper Beach is considered to be a part of the island's best kept secret. The area surrounding the beach featured Clifton Heritage National Land and Sea Park, plus another beach called Jaws Beach, and a day spent going from one of these locations to the next is considered to be the highlight of a vacation on New Providence.

Located on the western coast of the island of New Providence, 0.9 miles south west of Clifton Bay, You should consider stopping by even if you aren't staying particularly close by.

How to Access The Beach
Flipper Beach may be off-the-beaten path, but it is not too difficult to reach. You will need to rent a car to visit, however. If you follow the signs from Nassau to Clifton National Park you'll be headed in the right direction. The park is just after Lyford Cay, and when you reach it you can park and walk for about a mile until you reach the shore.

Amenities and Ambiance

Located on the far west coast of New Providence, Flipper Beach shares its offshore reef with Jaws Beach which is located just northeast. The beach is pristine in its tan colored sand and calm waters thanks to the fact that it rarely welcomes more than a handful of guest every day.

Despite the lack of crowds, activities are bountiful and include hiking, shelling, snorkeling, birding, boating, sunbathing, and swimming. If you'd like to see the national park as a whole, you can even pay for a guided tour.

Unfortunately, you won't find any public restrooms along this coastline, but you may be able to find facilities at a nearby business.
