Leeward East Beach

This quiet beach runs along the coast near the Leeward East subdivision. Buffered from the neighborhood by a long patch of interesting, shade-providing trees, this beach has a really nice remote feel to it despite its Nassau locale.

Set on the eastern coast of the island of New Providence, You might think about stopping by even if you aren't staying nearby. Leeward East Beach stands out because it's the ideal location for getting away from vacation stresses, like overly crowded restaurants and attractions. Other nearby beaches you'll come across in the Bahamas may have the same pleasing, tropical setting as Leeward East Beach, but are usually more cramped since they're right in the thick of tourists' favorite hangouts.

How to Access The Beach
If you have a rental car, public parking is available at the northern part of the beach, and can be reached from Yamacraw Hill Rd.

Amenities and Ambiance

The water is relatively shallow and clear, and the sand is a soft white. The twisted mangroves along the beach are a really nice, distinctive feature.

Keep in mind that restrooms won't be found on-site, which is something to consider if you're bringing the kids, or plan to spend all day outside.

If you enjoy beaches which provide a serene place to escape, then maybe head on over to Leeward East Beach; it is found within a more rural sector of the region.
