On the western end of New Providence, running along the eastern coast of Clifton Bay, is the Lyford Cay Beach. The beach is enjoyed mainly by those staying in Lyford Cay's upscale residences.
Situated in Lyford Cay, this beach is on the West coast of New Providence. You should think about stopping by even if you aren't staying nearby. You'll find the area around the beach to be somewhat urbanized, but this does not, in fact, mean beach to be rather congested, the actual beach is going to be too congested. Instead, you will generally find yourself with plenty of room to stretch out.
Taking Western Rd. west, go straight through the round-a-bout which will put you on Lyford Cay Dr. This will take you past the golf course and put you in the middle of Lyford Cay's high-end residential area. Clifton Bay Dr. runs parallel to the beach.
Dotted with palm trees, this exclusive beach features pristine, white sand and exquisite views over Clifton Bay. Just across Clifton Bay Dr from Lyford Cay golf course, this is a really great spot to relax after a few holes of golf.
Keep in mind that restrooms won't be found on-site, so if you're visiting with small children you might want to consider a different location.
Visitors will find this beach on the West coast of New Providence; it's located near attractions like Sacred Spaces: Women & Welcome, which is one of the closest attractions.
To some, museums and beaches may seem an odd combination, but some visitors find that museums like National Art Galley of The Bahamas (positioned 12 and a half miles to the east) offer a fun learning experience and a whole new perspective of the Bahamas.
Beaches are a great attraction to visit, but there's plenty else to see during your stay. The following chart includes some other attractions close-by.

Lyford Cay Beach is near Cable Beach, so a trip into the city is a definite option. Lyford Cay Beach visitors seeking a little additional excitement might want to consider making the trip to Cable Beach, since it's in the vicinity and is an especially active area of the Bahamas.
The number of other people sharing spots in the sand can vary widely, it depends on many factors: the time of sundown, happy hour, even how many of the nearby hotel rooms have been booked. There are not many large hotels nearby, but it's sometimes enjoyed by visitors from the few small lodgings in the area.
You'll find a good assortment of hotel and resort options to pick from in the area that surrounds the beach. The most convenient of which are shown in the table that follows.

A trip to the beach isn't complete until you dine at a nearby restaurant, where you can sample the local chefs' favorite dishes, within a reachable distance. One of the closest places to eat is. You could take a cab or probably walk to this restaurant as it's only a short distance away.

Lyford Cay Beach isn't the only beach worth checking out on New Providence.
You may also want to try Gaulding Cay Beach, where there's usually lots of activity. You'll find it a mile and a half to the west-southwest. If you're looking for something a little more private, Old Fort Bay may be a good choice. You'll find it just a little ways away.
Another location you may want to try is Old Fort Marina Beach, which is located three miles to the east-northeast.
Of course, there are lots of other things to do and see in the Bahamas; then again, a trip to Lyford Cay Beach could end up a family favorite.
