Located on the way to Sandy Point, Cottage Pond is enshrouded in mystery due largely in part to the fact that nobody knows exactly how deep the pond is. Legends abound about the are, from the idea that a mermaid inhabits the water source, to stories of Royalists tossing slaves in to drown several hundred years ago. Today, the Cottage Pond area serves as a popular birding spot.

Positioned on the northwestern edge of the island of North Caicos, You should consider stopping by even if you aren't staying particularly close by. Travelers in search of a tranquil, secluded setting might want to plan a visit to Cottage Pond Beach.

How to Access The Beach
Cottage Pond is located to the right as you exit Sandy Pond, A short road takes you to a parking area right outside the pond area. Be warned that the parking area is a tight one, so be aware of your surroundings when you park to ensure you will be able to get out with little trouble.

Amenities and Ambiance

In actuality, Cottage Pond is a deep cave or sink hole that stretches to depths of at least 255 feet. The color of the water itself reflects the greenery that encircles the pond. The flora at Cottage Pond, comprised of thick, leafy trees is so lush and beautiful that locals often say that it is a garden tended by the gods.

Unfortunately, public restrooms aren't available, which is something to consider if you plan to spend a full day in the sun.

Cottage Pond Beach brings visitors an angelic and relaxing environment, especially since the region surrounding the beach is more rural than urban.
