Turtle Beach

The shores of Turtle Beach are surrounded by hotels. There are plenty of watersports and beach activities for folks of all ages to enjoy, and convenient facilities are available making this a good place to bring the family.

Located in the heart of downtown Ocho Rios, Turtle Beach is on the North East edge of Jamaica. You should consider dropping by even if you aren't staying in the immediate vicinity. You may notice that beaches throughout Jamaica are usually somewhat secluded and quiet, but Turtle Beach stands out as a pleasant exception to this rule.

How to Access The Beach
Easy to access and in the heart of Ocho Rios, you may also hear it referred to as Ocho Rios Bay Beach. Public parking exists in multiple areas right next to the beach.

Amenities and Ambiance

This cozy little coastline features a well-manicured beach shrouded in lush, green, shady palm and almond trees. When you need a break from Turtle Beach's watersports, or shelter from the sultry island sun, there's plenty of places to relax and cool off.

There is also a great restaurant right on-site if you're interested; many find it the perfect, convenient solution for lunch. Jamaica has so many interesting places to sit and enjoy a meal, but don't think that tables, chairs, and waiters are prerequisites for a great meal. Some visitors, in fact, would rather eat lunch by the shoreline than in a different restaurant. Did you know that some hotels are happy to pack picnic lunches for their guests? Otherwise, you could easily grab some of Jamaica's famous street food along the way.

The concession stand on-site could come in handy, even if you plan to have lunch elsewhere. Depending on the season and time of day, you may also be able to try local specialties from one of the local vendors who typically set up on this shoreline.

There are public restrooms at this beach——something you'll appreciate if you bring the kids along. Fortunately, showers are provided, so you can clean off the sand before hitting more attractions. You'll also find umbrellas and chairs, so guests looking for some respite from the sun will not be disappointed. You'll find the waters off-shore to be of good snorkeling quality, so bring your gear if you want to see the underwater world. This beach isn't as crowded as many of Jamaica's other beaches so you can enjoy a quiet stroll, or get a game of beach football going.

Bear in mind that the area right around Turtle Beach is a popular spot, so the availability of certain amenities is likely to be affected.
