The shores of Turtle Beach are surrounded by hotels. There are plenty of watersports and beach activities for folks of all ages to enjoy, and convenient facilities are available making this a good place to bring the family.

Set in the heart of downtown Ocho Rios, Turtle Beach is on the North East edge of Jamaica. You might want to drop by even if you aren't staying in the vicinity. While Jamaica has beaches that are more secluded than Turtle Beach, it has just the right amount of private-feel to appeal to couples and families alike.

How to Access The Beach
Easy to access and in the heart of Ocho Rios, you may also hear it referred to as Ocho Rios Bay Beach. Public parking exists in multiple areas right next to the beach.

Amenities and Ambiance

This cozy little coastline features a well-manicured beach shrouded in lush, green, shady palm and almond trees. When you need a break from Turtle Beach's watersports, or shelter from the sultry island sun, there's plenty of places to relax and cool off.

Also, you have the option of trying the restaurant located right on Turtle Beach. Every destination has its own cuisine, and Jamaica is no different. One of the best places to experience delicious local dishes is right next to the coast. Ask your hotel about picnic lunches, as some hotels offer to pack snacks for their guests' day trips. Otherwise, there are plenty of walk-up vendors that offer hot, on-the-go food.

Even if you plan to dine elsewhere, the snack bar on-site could come in handy. Sometimes, visitors will be able to get lunch from one of the local vendors who typically set up shop here.

This beach has public restrooms——something you'll appreciate if you spend more than a couple of hours here. Fortunately, showers are provided, so you can rinse off the sand. In addition, you'll find umbrellas and chairs here, so guests hoping for a break from the hot sun will not be disappointed. The water in the area is fit for snorkeling, so grab some gear if you want to see the underwater world. This beach isn't as crowded as many of Jamaica's other beaches so you can enjoy a quiet stroll, or get a game of beach football going.

Don't forget that the immediate vicinity around Turtle Beach is rather congested, so you may find quite a few people competing for the use of the same services.
