While there is a small beach across from the capital building of Old San Juan, this town is not exactly considered a popular beach destination. This should by no means be considered a negative for those preparing a getaway here -- the surrounding area of San Juan, Isle Verde, and Condado is filled with great beaches that are within easy reach.
There are a large number of beaches to visit, though all of them are located just outside of Old San Juan. Simply click on the name of the beach for a detailed guide to that beach.
Parque Beach: Parque Beach is lined with well manicured tropical palms, and features fine tan colored sand and deep blue waters.
Another location worth considering is Ocean Park. Located between Condado and Isle Verde Beaches, Ocean Park is a wide expanse of golden sand fronting the turquoise Caribbean. The area is lined with hotels, resorts, and condos as well as a number of sports complexes.
Isla Verde Beach: Relax on the sandy shores on a quiet day, or party with friends on weekends when things get more lively. There's plenty to do in the water from parasailing to waterskiing.
