What began as a single defensive tower would eventually become a major fort on the island that served as a defense against any approaching naval ships. Today the site is located in and administered by the Sna Juan National Historic Site, a branch of the US National Parks Service.
After gaining admission, you are free to explore the fort and learn of its rich history.

During the winter and spring months, the parks is open from 9:00am to 5:00pm, and from 9:00am to 6:00pm during the summer and autumn.
