Museo de las Américas

This museum highlights the cultural and artistic achievements that the people of the Americas have made over the past several centuries. The museum includes the progress of the natives, settlers , and modern people from as far north as Alaska to the Southern tip of Argentina.

What to Expect

Guests will be able to explore numerous exhibits that showcase the great success of a variety of people. With often overlooked civilizations like Native Americans, Incans, and Mayas, the museum puts in perspective their achievements to those made by colonist and eventually citizens of the New World.

The museum is located inside the old Spanish Barracks, on the second floor, and has been remodeled to be use only green, clean energy.

Opportunities for some fun in the sun like playing a few holes of golf and beach-going are also enjoyed by many in the region. Travelers who enjoy testing their skillfulness at the green, will be able to do so at the closest golfing option, which is Fort Buchanan Golf Club. If you don't take a whole lot of pride in your golf game, other outdoor options exist, including Escambrion Beach, which is the closest beach to Museo de las Américas. Still, multiple golf and beach options remain in the region. Museum visitors will also find a variety of indoor attractions within a reasonable distance. The museum is only open Tuesday through Friday from 10:00am until 4:00pm.
