The San Juan National Historic Site is the overarching Historic Zone that includes much of Old San Juan. Within the zone are the two main forts, Castillo San Cristobal and San Felipe del Morro, as well as several other historic sites.
Located on the grounds of the San Juan National Historic Site are two forts that once protected San Juan as well as powder houses, bastions, and walls. Guests are welcome to tour the property with the rangers who give hourly orientation presentations that last about 20 minutes, or take a self-guided tour. The cost to visit the forts at San Juan National Historic Site is $3(USD) per adult aged 16 and up, or $5(USD) for both. It s also important to note that while parking is free for the first hour, it costs $2(USD) per hour after that.
