San Juan National Historic Site

The San Juan National Historic Site is the overarching Historic Zone that includes much of Old San Juan. Within the zone are the two main forts, Castillo San Cristobal and San Felipe del Morro, as well as several other historic sites.

Offerings

Located on the grounds of the San Juan National Historic Site are two forts that once protected San Juan as well as powder houses, bastions, and walls. Guests are welcome to tour the property with the rangers who give hourly orientation presentations that last about 20 minutes, or take a self-guided tour. Location and What's Nearby

If you're time spend at this site has got your stomach stomach growling, there's no need to fret -- there is a broad selection of lunch and dinner spots within traveling distance. Aureola Cafe Restaurant, which sells Caribbean fare, is very close-by, making it a great option for patrons here. The dining establishment is a small ways away, but far-off enough that you will need to arrange for taking advantage of a mode of transport to travel there. Nono's Bar And Restaurant and La Tortuga are additional dining possibilities in the area. At La Tortuga you and your group will be able to sample Italian food and enjoy the culture of Puerto Rico.

San Juan National Historic Site is open to the public daily from 9:00 a.m. to 5:00 p.m.

Payment

The cost to visit the forts at San Juan National Historic Site is $3(USD) per adult aged 16 and up, or $5(USD) for both. It s also important to note that while parking is free for the first hour, it costs $2(USD) per hour after that.
