Orange Walk Attractions

One of the top urban centers in Belize, Orange Walk walks a fine line as an agricultural powerhouse as well.  Many of the attractions for visitors staying here to explore are historic relics, most notably two military forts and a Mayan temple.

If you are looking to do some sight-seeing, visit Banquitas House of Culture. It is located in the heart of Orange Walk. The museum at the Banquitas House of Culture features a display of Maya artifacts and shares information regarding the importance of logging and cane farming in the region.

Like learning about the historical roots of places you visit? If that's the case, you should consider visiting a historical site during your vacation.

If you are looking to do some sight-seeing, visit Cuello Mayan Archaeological Site. It is located 4.0 mi. South of central Orange Walk. Visitors will be able to visit the site and not only learn about Maya history, culture, and daily life in Belize, but can learn all about archaeology and the importance it plays in understanding the past. The Cuello site focus, however, on the very early history of the Maya people in Belize, with the site being occupied as early as 2500 BC.
