Yoda Guy Movie Exhibit

Yoda Guy Movie Exhibit is a museum near Orient Bay. Exhibits include proprietor Nick's personal collection of movie relics and collectibles, with a focus on Sci-Fi franchises like Star Wars, Highlander, and Superman.

An alternative landmark could be Musée de Saint-Martin. It's a museum within reach of Orient Bay. Musee de Saint-Martin provides visitors with the opportunity to learn about the history of St. Martin. Exhibits begin with a discussion of how life was on the island for the Arawak people, and moves towards how that all changed when Europeans discovered the island.

Musee Des Coquillages: The museum is open during the week from 10:00am until 6:00pm, with a two hour break starting at noon. On the weekend, the museum is only open from 2:00pm to 6:00pm.

Historical Sites

Fort Louis

Like discovering the historical roots of foreign countries? If so, you might want to visit a few of these historical attractions while vacationing in Orient Bay.

A common landmark for vacationers is Mount Vernon Plantation. It is located in southwestern Orient Bay. While it may not seem like much now, it was fields like Mount Vernon Plantation that gave St. Martin its wealth during the colonial and early independence eras of its history. This historical park will give visitors a unique insight into the production of sugar, rum, and the harvest of numerous spices.

Another option is Hope Estate Archeological Site. It's a historical site near Orient Bay. All visits to the site are done by appointment only, and usually take around three hours to complete.

Sucker Garden Salt Factory Ruins: Built around the 1850's, Sucker Garden Salt Factory was at the time an experiment in increasing the efficiency of salt collection. The factory had a near century long lifespan, and was abandoned in 1948.

A landmark worth visiting is Sint Maarten Carousel. It can be found at Carousel Gelateria Bar and located within Cole Bay, 5.8 mi. South West of central Orient Bay. While exploring Cole Bay, surprise them with a trip to a carousel, where they will be able to ride the horses and carriages around, while parents can watch from the cocktail and espresso bar.
