The Butterfly Farm

Explore the beautiful colors of the Saint Martin butterflies and plants at this unique and magical attraction. You will find the enclosed area full of caterpillars, cocoons, and butterflies of all sizes.

The farm is set in an enclosed exhibition of tropical gardens filled with local flora and natural landscaping that includes ponds and rest areas. Hundreds of tropical butterflies fly freely around you.

The farm offers guests the sight of hundreds of butterflies, caterpillars, and cocoons; offering visitors great opportunities for group photos and a good place for the children to have some fun. Guided tours educate guests about the evolutionary cycle of the butterfly, from an egg to the caterpillar, and finally the butterfly. The tour takes approximately 20 minutes and you are welcome to stay as long as you like. There is ample parking, refreshments, restrooms and a gift shop.


Positioned in Saint Martin, toward the southern outskirts of Orient Bay, The Butterfly Farm always welcomes local residents and tourists lodging in this part of the island of St. Martin and Sint Maarten. Regardless of whether or not you're staying in the vicinity, you are free to stop by for some fun in the sun.

There are many restaurants to pick from in the area nearby The Butterfly Farm. Paradise View, which has a menu full of Caribbean meals, is also the most convenient option for visitors of this zoo. The dining establishment is a short distance away, but far-off enough that you may decide to make plans for employing a viable type of transport to get there. Chez Pat and Papagayo offer additional nearby lunch and dinner possibilities. At Papagayo you and your companions should be sure to eat some International food and enjoy the local foods and culture of St. Martin.

They are open everyday from 9:00 a.m. until 3:30 p.m., though admission into the gardens ends at 3:00pm, so be sure to show up before then. Additionally, the Butterfly Farm says that the butterflies are the most active in the morning, so you may want to plan to show up then.


The entrance fee is $15(USD) per person, half price for children up to 12 years, under three years free. This includes a guided tour of the Farm and a complementary pass for the duration of your vacation. Cruise ship visitors receive a $2(USD) discount in lieu of the pass.
