The Old House Museum takes visitors back to the early days of Saint Martin's colonial history where they will learn of the culture, politics, and economics that have led the island to where it is today.
There are several exhibits inside the Old House Museum that offer a broad range of information. Visitors will find exhibits showing the history of the region and the island, including the Columbus expeditions and early colonization, as well as an entire exhibit dedicated to the advertisement history of rum. There are also some exhibits on social history, such as one on how the plantation owners lived in comparison to the workers.
Guests are invited to travel back in time at the Old House, where the furnishings and decor are representative of the plantation era on the island.
Consider staying in La Croisade if you plan on visiting The Old House, as visitors to this part of St. Martin will have easy museum access throughout their trip. If you want to find a place within easy reach of the museum, you'll find a moderate selection of hotel rooms in the neighborhood.
