Flying to Oyster Pond

Flying to Oyster Pond is one of the easiest ways to travel

There are two airports on the island, but the major international airport, Princess Juliana International is located on the Dutch side in Philipsburg.  It is one of the major and modern facilities in the region, and tourists with plans to stay in Oyster Pond will find it to be conveniently located about 15 minutes away.

Flying to Oyster Pond from the US

From the east coast of the United States it is pretty easy to book a direct flight to Princess Juliana International Airport.  Several major carriers including Jet Blue, Delta Airlines, andUnited Airlines all make stops here several times weekly – if not daily – from Florida, Georgia, New York, New Jersey, and Massachusetts.  If you're traveling to the island from elsewhere in the United States, connecting through Florida or New York will likely be your easiest options.

This chart lets you know which airlines offer flights non-stop from the U.S. as well as the airports they fly from. Not all of the flight combinations you will be shown on some of the booking engines make a lot of sense so it can be handy to see at a glance which airlines fly directly to this airport.

Flying to Oyster Pond from Canada

When it comes to flying to Sint Maarten from Canada, most travelers will treat it as though they are flying from anywhere in the United States outside of the East Coast.  Only Air Canada regularly travels to the island from Toronto, so if you don't have easy access to the airport there, a connecting flight through the United States will make the most sense.

Flying to Oyster Pond from Europe

Princess Juliana tends to be a major connection for travelers headed to other islands in the Caribbean from Europe, but it may take a bit of work because flights from outside of the Netherlands, the United Kingdom, or France are rare.  This means connecting through one of these airports from elsewhere in Europe, or flying to New York City and then flying to St. Maarten.

Flying to Oyster Pond from the Caribbean

If you live elsewhere in the Caribbean, or Oyster Pond is on your list of towns to visit on a tour that takes you to several different destinations in the region, you should have no trouble at all making it happen.  Flights to Princess Juliana from both large and small airports throughout the Caribbean islands are extremely common, often inexpensive, and easy to book.  There is also a much smaller airport in Grand Case on the French side of the island called L'Esperance Airport that welcomes flights from St. Barthelemy and Guadeloupe daily.

Check the chart below for air service from other regional airports. If there aren't any flights from an airport near your home, making a connection through another airport in the Caribbean could be a fine option.
