Located on the island's east coast, there is no official beach on Oyster Pond. If you're willing to drive just a few minutes out of town you'll encounter some of the best stretches of sand on the island, like the picturesque and largely uncrowded Dawn Beach or Gibbs Bay.
You'll find a large selection of beaches to choose from in and around the area. Snorkeling is an option at some locations, for vacationers who enjoy the underwater scene. Just click on the name of each beach for more detail concerning that particular location.
Baie Lucas Beach: Baie Lucas is located off Rue de Coralita, just north of the St. Martin-Sint Maarten border at Oyster Pond. Stick to the coastal road and it will be hard to miss.
A second location to consider is Red Pond Bay. Located on the eastern coast of the island and south of the popular resorts like the Westin and Oyster Bay Beach, Red Pond Bay features a quiet and private beach, used only by private house owners. The area isn't suited for swimming, due to the more aggressive waves, but does offer an opportunity for an incredible view of the Caribbean Sea.
Gibbs Bay: Located on the east coast of the island, Gibbs Bay features a small beach area, south of some of the island's popular resorts. Typically unpopulated, the beach's soft white sand and clear waters are perfect for a no-hassle beach trip.
