Oyster Pond Beach

Oyster Pond beach is less of a beach than a shoreline. Most of the coastline here backs up into private docks. It's a boater's bay but a small strip of sandy beach is on the cape that separates the bay from the ocean.

Positioned on the eastern outskirts of Saint Martin, close to Philipsburg, Oyster Pond Beach is on the North East edge of the island of St. Martin and Sint Maarten. You should think about stopping by even if you aren't staying very close. Travelers who'd like to avoid renting a car will like how easy it is to reach Oyster Pond Beach. More than likely, this beach is near many of the attractions you already plan to visit, since it is right in the center of all the daytime activity.

How to Access The Beach
The strip of sand that is the only real beach on this bay is blockaded by the Oyster Bay Beach resort and public access is limited.

Amenities and Ambiance

The sand here is tan and beautiful and the ocean floor is clear for several feet out into the turquoise waters. Umbrellas line the beach for use by patrons of the resort.

The concession stand on-site could come in handy, even if you plan to have lunch elsewhere. You may also have the option to buy some food from one of the local vendors who set up shop at the beach.

Keep in mind that restrooms won't be found on-site, which is something to consider if you're bringing the kids, or plan to spend all day outside. Happily, the off-shore waters are fit for snorkeling, so bring along some gear if you are looking to do some underwater exploration. It's out-of-the-way location tends to discourage many travelers, which means that those who do make the trek are sure to have beautiful Oyster Pond Beach all to themselves.

Be mindful that the area surrounding Oyster Pond Beach is is a much-visited area, so plan accordingly.
