This resort style course is one of two at Palmas del Mar. The other, the Flamboyán Course, is regarded as one of the longest and most challenging rounds in the Caribbean. While novices might want to stick to the more straightforward Palm Course, it should also not be underestimated by low-handicappers. Its rolling terrain, water hazards and strategically placed bunkers offer golfers of all abilities plenty of challenges.
Founded in 1973, this course in Puerto Rico has become an established site for visiting golfers. Gary Player designed the course. The golf course has 18 holes, which measure a total distance of 6126 yards.
The course meanders through the Palmas del Mar community, and features a pair of ocean-side holes. You'll play the front nine alongside various resorts and hotels, but finish up in the quiet, peaceful countryside. The winds coming off the ocean can be rather stiff, especially on the open back nine, so be cautious with your club selections. Most greens are not elevated, and they tend to be quite soft.
