Patillas Attractions

Aptly named the “Emerald of the South,” Patillas is especially known for its verdant mountains and loads of green space.  The most popular attractions here play to the town's ecological strengths, boasting rivers, lakes, hiking trails, and beaches as its major points of interest.

Beaches

Maunabo Beach

You'll find a large number of beaches to choose from in and around the area. Just click on the name of each beach to get additional information concerning that particular location.

Punta Guilarte Beach: The beach is just west of the Patillas Airport, and drivers can simply take Expresso Jose Barbosa to the road adjacent to the airport. Taking that road south will lead you right to the beach.

Another place to consider is Pesquera Beach. A favorite among locals on the weekend, Pasquera Beach is located near rental villas and has parking, but there are no restrooms associated with this stretch of sand. Where they do shine is the atmosphere, as strains of local music can be heard from the kiosks that line the shore.

La Playa Guardarraya: Local families frequent this beach because it is ideally located surrounded by restaurants and grocery stores so you don't have to pack up and bring all your supplies with you -- though with a few free use barbecue grills on site, you certainly can if you want to.

Fortunately, you can find plenty of other choices for beaches in and around the area. To read more about beaches available, click here.
