Currently one of the trendiest destinations in the Mexican Caribbean, Playa del Carmen is a place to see and be seen.  That doesn't mean you can't squeeze a bit of culture in at the same time.  If you're up for a small amount of driving, just outside are the mysterious Mayan ruins that can't be missed as well as a local culture and history museum.  Meanwhile, right within city limits you'll find a lighthouse, several natural sites, and of course, the world-famous beaches.

A second location worth considering is Playa del Carmen. Set in a resort town of the same name, Playa del Carmen is one of the most popular beaches in the Maya Riviera. Just south of Cancun, the beach is not only known for its gorgeous tropical scenery, but the wealth of activities than guests can partake in, such as snorkeling and other water sports, fishing, beach volleyball, sunbathing, and more.

Maroma Beach: Pure white sands, warm deep blue waters, and stucco huts with thatched roof are what you'll encounter when you arrive at Maroma Beach. The beach is lined with palm trees and the calm waters are great for snorkeling.
