El Camaleon Mayakoba

The course features an abundance of water hazards, which factor into all but three of the eighteen holes. When making its way closer to the ocean, the course is lined by sand dunes and distinctive mangroves. Further inland, it winds through a dense tropical jungle. Such dramatic changes in the landscape is the why its aptly been named El Camaleon (the chameleon). Golfers of all ages and abilities will be able to enjoy this picturesque course.

Course Description

You can golf here year round.

The course is open daily from 6:30 am to 6:00 pm.

Having been built in 2004, travelers playing this golf course should find fairly modern facilities. The course layout, hole placement, and surprise challenges all came from the imagination of Greg Norman, the lead architect of El Camaleon Mayakoba. They have 18 holes here, and they stretch out a total of 7024 yards.

The course is situated on the Caribbean coast across from Cozumel. Fairways are bordered by water at times, thick forest at others, and occasionally by the resorts around which it makes its home. Two breathtaking holes take golfers right up to the ocean. Subterranean caves and sparkling lagoons are prominent features elsewhere.
