El Faro Beach is a part of a much larger stretch of sand along the coast in Playa del Carmen. With several hotel properties set right on the beach, you can always expect this spot to be busy.
Positioned in the heart of downtown Playa del Carmen, El Faro is on the East edge of Mexico. You might want even if you aren't staying in the immediate vicinity. If you prefer to escape the buzz of the city, it's good to know that the majority of beaches in Cancun and the Mexican Caribbean are known for their privacy and seclusion. Then again, some vacationers seek out the loudest and the most active areas, and are better off visiting El Faro, one of the few beaches that draws a significant crowd.

Lined with lounge chairs, sunbathers can always be viewed along the shore of El Faro. The sand is white, soft and smooth, well kept besides the beach's popularity, and the water that washes ashore is clear and turquoise.

Since El Faro can be found in an area that sees many visitors, you'll want to plan accordingly.
Visitors will find this beach on the East coast of Mexico; it's located near attractions like El Faro Lighthouse, which is less than a hundred yards away.
Historic attractions, including, offer a wonderful compliment to the scenery of El Faro, plus they allow vacationers to learn more about Cancun and the Mexican Caribbean, without straying too far from the coastline. As a matter of fact, this coastline is located only a brief walk or taxi ride away from this historical destination.

There are other beaches in Mexico you might like besides El Faro.
Another location you might enjoy is Playa Secreto, which is generally a pretty popular beach. It is located 16 and a half miles to the northeast. Playa Secreto is an unknown jewel of Cancun. Privacy, sand, and sun are awaiting the lucky traveler who stumbles upon this secret. If it's a bit of peace and quiet you're after, Playa del Carmen is a location secluded from lots of tourists and buildings. You'll find it just a short distance away.
Vacationers may also want to visit Maroma Beach, located ten and a half miles to the northeast.
Perhaps El Faro is the most convenient coastline for you to visit, but some travelers itch to explore more; in which case there are other beaches (and other outdoor attractions) worth trying.
