Galeria de Arte 5ta Avenida

Founded in 2009, Galeria de Arte 5ta Avenida helps visitors obtain one of a kind, authentic art that is inspired by the customs and traditions of Mexico.

The gallery features Art of Tzutujil. One of the smallest of the ethnic groups that made up the Mayan culture, the Tzutujil tribe began painting in 1920. The most common settings in their paintings are markets, dances, harvests, dances and religious ceremonies; their art often features important members of the community.

They also have art by Ricardo Campero. His works involve detailed textures, architectural shapes and layers and bold and vivid colors. His work has been compared to Rufino Tamayo and Alfaro Psiqueiros. They have Manuel Zardain work, which captures the spirit of Mexico with paintings of things like Mexican fiestas in vivid oil paint.

They also have Felix Aguilar photography. For one of his collections., he spent over ten years photographing the Tarahumara people in the remote Sierra Madre. He is currently working on a collection called 'Dreams: Spaces in Time," which includes photography from various regions of Mexico.
