Ixchel

Ixchel is perhaps the most unique place to have dinner in all of Mexico. Dinners, typically couples in search of a romantic evening, step aboard a small dining boat, and are treated to a meal led by a trained culinary host as they sail the Mayakoba lagoon.

Food

Ixchel delights the Riviera Maya with International cooking that sets a standard for the area. The style of the restaurant and its dishes is considered by most to be informal. They are open for business during both breakfast and dinner, so why not stop by?

Ambiance

The dining boats of Ixchel allow guests to dine with a backdrop of the Mayakoba Lagoon, under a thatch roof.

Location

This restaurant is on the premises of Banyan Tree Mayakoba, which is located in the Riviera Maya, in Quintana Roo; it is four miles (six and a half kilometers) to the northeast of Playa del Carmen.

Because the number of things to see and do here is limited, explorative visitors may have to take a short drive for a choice of natural and cultural attractions.

Beyond this restaurant there are at least a few active pursuits, such as El Camaleon Mayakoba and El Faro. The latter option is the closest spot to access the beach, and is in the same general vicinity as the restaurant.

Nearby Restaurants

If you're in the mood for another area restaurant with some similar kinds of food and/or a comparable price range, there is no lack of nearby places to pick from, including Oriente. You'll find it within traveling distance of the Ixchel.

In contrast, if you want a change of pace, this part of Mexico features an excellent selection of restaurants, where you'll find all types of cuisine styles and menu items. For instance, you can try eclectic cuisine at La Cava, which isn't very far away.

Credit Cards and Other Info
