Attractions in Ponce

One might describe Ponce as the second busiest city on Puerto Rico.  Next to San Juan, this town has the most variety of attractions to choose from.  Not only can you relax on a gorgeous beach, it under a coconut tree in an inner city park, or check out one of the multiple museums and historical sites during the day, but your nights can be spent finding out just how lucky you are in a local casino.

Ponce Beach: Actually located right outside of Ponce, Ponce Beach is a bit quieter than the large city it shares its name with. Guests who visit Ponce Beach will be treated to cool dark waters on one side, and natural mangroves on the other.

A second location that beach-goers can consider is Playa de Ponce. Playa de Ponce is located on the outskirts of Puerto Rico's second-largest city, Ponce. La Guancha: La Guancha Beach is not one of Puerto Rico's more popular beaches for swimming, but it is a great place for strolling and socializing. The boardwalk here is filled with kiosks selling food, drinks, and souvenirs, and salsa music blares throughout, making it a fun and lively environment.

Landmark Attractions

Museo de Arte de Ponce

Many travelers choose to visit Museo de Arte de Ponce. It is situated in downtown Ponce. Museo de Arte de Ponce is the main art museum in Puerto Rico, featuring collections of some of the most important pieces of art work from around the world and in a number of varying mediums.

Another landmark that often intrigues visitors is Museo Castillo Serralles. It is found in northern Ponce. The rum and sugar industry have long been an important part of the economy in Puerto Rico. At Museo Castillo Serralles, visitors will have the opportunity to learn more about the industry.

Casa Paoli Museum: Paoli House is a research and cultural center, dedicating to upholding cultural events in Puerto Rico. The center is located in the once home of famed Puerto Rican opera singer Antonio Paoli.

Bosque Estatal De Toro Negro

Visitors who enjoy spending time outdoors will probably enjoy spending some time at Bosque Estatal De Cerrillos. Focused around the lake and dam, Bosque Estatal de Cerrillos, (Cerrillos State Forest) offers guests various activities involving the lake and the small forest surrounding it.

Another attraction you might want to visit is Bosque Estatal De Toro Negro. While not the most popular of Puerto Rico's natural attractions, the park at Toro Negro Forest offers a varied experience for hikers looking for a day of sightseeing and trail blazing.
