One might describe Ponce as the second busiest city on Puerto Rico.  Next to San Juan, this town has the most variety of attractions to choose from.  Not only can you relax on a gorgeous beach, it under a coconut tree in an inner city park, or check out one of the multiple museums and historical sites during the day, but your nights can be spent finding out just how lucky you are in a local casino.

Beaches

La Guancha

You will find several beaches to choose from in and around the area. Click on each beach name to get additional information concerning that particular stretch of sand.

Ponce Beach: Just to the west of Ponce, you can find a couple of roads that head south through the mangroves. Careful drivers of ATVs or durable cars can follow dirt paths to the beach.

A second option to consider is Playa de Ponce. Playa de Ponce is located along Cil Principal.

La Guancha: La Guancha Beach is not one of Puerto Rico's more popular beaches for swimming, but it is a great place for strolling and socializing. The boardwalk here is filled with kiosks selling food, drinks, and souvenirs, and salsa music blares throughout, making it a fun and lively environment.

One popular destination is Museo de Arte de Ponce. It is found in downtown Ponce. The museum is opened daily during the week between the hours of 10:00 a.m. and 6:00 p.m., except for Tuesday when it is closed.

Start at the La Hacienda Mercedita, which was the home of the Serralles family, who own the rum distillery which produces Don Q Puerto Rican Rum. Inside is a museum dedicated to the history of rum making on the island, and visitors will have the opportunity to tour the refurbished home and see how the Serralles family lived.

Casa Paoli Museum: Paoli House is a research and cultural center, dedicating to upholding cultural events in Puerto Rico. The center is located in the once home of famed Puerto Rican opera singer Antonio Paoli.
