1 | Tibes Indian Ceremonial Center

Witness the history and tradition of the indigenous peoples of Puerto Rico at the Tibes Indian Ceremonial Center, where through recreations and reenactments you will see how they lived. Located in Ponce, this spot is one of the most important archeological locations in Puerto Rico, where radiocarbon dating has proven that occupation of the area was from 400 to 1000 A.D.

The center of Ponce is approximately two and a half miles (approximately four kilometers) south of this historical site.

1 | Cruceta El Vigia

The Cruceta El Vigia, in English the Watchman Cross, is a large stone cross with class windows along the front looking over the water. It is built on the same location where the early Puerto Ricans has a lookout tower in the shape of a cross.

Travel north for three quarters of a mile (one and a quarter kilometers) from the center of Ponce to reach this monument, which is situated at 17 El Vigia.

The rum and sugar industry have long been an important part of the economy in Puerto Rico. At Museo Castillo Serralles, visitors will have the opportunity to learn more about the industry.

1 | Museo Francisco Pancho Coimbre

Sports fans, and baseball fans in particular, will want to visit the Museo Francisco "Pancho" Coimbre. This museum dedicated to Pancho is all about the early days of Puerto Rican baseball.

Found on Calle Lolita Tizol, this museum is located northeast of the center of Ponce.

3 | Museum Of Puerto Rican Music

While music may not be the first thing that comes to mind when one thinks of Puerto Rico, the fact is that the island has developed a unique musical culture that is separate from the rest of the Caribbean. The mix of Caribbean, African, Native, Spanish, and American musical tradition have helped shape Puerto Rico's, independent musical culture.

Found at 50 Calle Isabel, this museum is a couple hundred yards (a few hundred meters) from Ponce History Museum.

4 | Statue Of Munoz Rivera

This monument can be found a few hundred yards (a quarter kilometer) from Museum Of Puerto Rican Music.

5 | Parque De Bombas

Originally built for the 1882 Exhibition Trade Fair, Parque de Bombas was later turned into the first fire station in Puerto Rico. It served that same purpose for over 100 years, when it was decommissioned in 1990 and later turned into a museum honoring the history of firefighting in Puerto Rico.

Head less than a hundred yards (less than a hundred meters) from Statue Of Munoz Rivera to get to this historical site, which is located on Plaza de las Delicias in Ponce.

Visitors will find this park a couple hundred yards (a few hundred meters) from Memorial To Don Domingo.

8 | Lion Fountain

Parque Las Delicias is located less than a hundred yards (less than a hundred meters) to the north-northwest of this monument.

9 | Casa Alcaldia

Also known as the Ponce City Hall, this is the oldest colonial building in Ponce and listed on the US National Register of Historic Places.

From Lion Fountain, go less than a hundred yards (about a hundred meters) to the south to reach this historical site.

10 | Centro Historico

The historic district of Ponce, also known as Ponce Town, contains most of the landmarks and historic sites in the city of Ponce. Recognized as historic in 1962, the area has decades of renovation and preservation work, making it a beautiful place for sightseeing.

11 | Museo de Ponce

Museo de Arte de Ponce is the main art museum in Puerto Rico, featuring collections of some of the most important pieces of art work from around the world and in a number of varying mediums.

Found at 2325 Las Americas Avenue, this museum is about a hundred yards (a couple hundred meters) from Centro Historico.

12 | Abolition Monument

Found on Calle Salud and Calle Marina, this monument is located a quarter mile (a half kilometer) from Museo de Arte de Ponce.

Costa Caribe's location provides golfers with tremendous views of both the Caribbean Sea the mountains of the Puerto Rican interior. There are 27 holes here which allows golfers with low handicaps play a challenging round, while inexperienced golfers can play a round that should find both fair and enjoyable.

This golf course is located at 300 Sancho's Avenue, and is a short distance away to the southeast of Ponce.
