Beaches in Ponce

There is much to recommend a vacation in Ponce, from the museums to the nightlife, but what many tourists are most concerned with is the beach situation.  Ponce is home to four main beaches and a few others in outlying areas.  All are equipped with facilities such as picnic tables and barbecue pits, bathrooms, and one even has a boardwalk with shops and restaurants.  A day at the beach in Ponce is more of an experience here than nearly anywhere else in Puerto Rico, and definitely worth a visit.

Pick Your Ideal Beach

There are a large selection of beaches to enjoy in and around the area. You can click on specific beach names for a detailed article concerning that beach.

La Guancha

La Guancha: La Guancha Beach is not one of Puerto Rico's more popular beaches for swimming, but it is a great place for strolling and socializing. The boardwalk here is filled with kiosks selling food, drinks, and souvenirs, and salsa music blares throughout, making it a fun and lively environment.

Another location worth considering is Bainairo Beach. Bainairo Beach is located off Highway 2.

Isla Caja de Muertos Beach: A ferry boat out of Ponce makes one trip to and one trip from this island. It leaves from the La Guancha Marina at 8:30 a.m.
