Playa de Ponce is located on the outskirts of Puerto Rico's second-largest city, Ponce. The smooth Caribbean waters here are good for just about any water sport you could want to partake in; it is also a fantastic place to just swim and relax on the warm beach.
Situated a mile and a half south-southwest of downtown Ponce, Playa de Ponce is on the South West edge of Puerto Rico. You should consider dropping by even if you aren't staying particularly close by. Puerto Rico's beaches are pretty busy for the most part, but Playa de Ponce is a little bit further from the crowds, which makes it an excellent attraction for those of you who don't want to wander too far away, but would rather avoid the most hectic parts of town.

Unfortunately, public restrooms aren't available, so those of you traveling with small children may want to consider another spot. Play de Ponce is less crowded than other beaches in the area, making it an ideal spot for travelers seeking respite from the tourist crowds.

There are other beaches in Puerto Rico you might like besides Playa de Ponce.
You may also want to try Ponce Beach, a popular beach beloved by tourists. You'll find it a mile and a half to the west. However, if you're looking to enjoy a quieter scene, Bainairo Beach is an area secluded from lots of tourists and buildings.
Another sun-drenched spot to consider is La Guancha, which is located two and a half miles to the east-southeast.
Of course, there is much more to do besides lounge on the sand in Puerto Rico, but taking a swim at Playa de Ponce is certainly a fun way to enjoy the area's natural attractions.
