If you're planning to make sailing your preferred form of transportation to Port Lucaya, you're in luck. The island of Grand Bahama is located just 70 miles off the coast of Florida, which means you can reasonably get here in less than eight hours of sailing. Once you arrive, you'll be asked by customs officials to fill out an immigration form, and you'll be required to present proof of citizenship, a passport, and another photo identification. Four passengers will have their cruising permit, fishing permit, and departure fee covered with a charge of $150 to $300(USD), a number which is determined by the length of the cruising vessel. Just make sure to fly your yellow quarantine flag as you sail ashore, so customs officials will be prepared for you.
