Taino Beach

Dotted with thatched huts and palm trees for shade, this relaxing beach is often the home of beach cookouts, and is an ideal spot to bring the whole family.

Located three miles east-southeast of downtown Freeport, Taino Beach is on the South West edge of Grand Bahama Island. You should think about stopping by even if you aren't staying in the immediate vicinity. If activity and variety isn't your thing, you'll be glad that many of The Bahamas' beaches are quiet and undisturbed. This atmosphere is not for everyone, though. If you seek a fun and active spot, you're better off trying a beach like Taino Beach, with a more upbeat atmosphere.

How to Access The Beach
From the E Sunshine Hwy, head south on Arden Forest Rd. At the end of the road, take on right on W Beach Rd, then your first right after the bridge. The beach is located across from the Flamingo Bay Yacht Club & Marina.

Amenities and Ambiance

This short but pleasant stretch of gorgeous white sand is separated from the popular Lucayan Beach by the narrow inlet to Bell Channel Bay. It is home to Taino Beach Resort which looks out onto clam, emerald ocean water.

Unfortunately, restrooms will not be available here, though you may be able to use the facilities at a nearby business.

Since Taino Beach happens to be located within an area that sees many visitors, you'll want to plan accordingly.
