Picard Beach

Adjacent to Ross University Medical School, Picard beach is just a little strip of shoreline south of Portsmouth where visitors or students take a quick dip.

Located on the island of Dominica, You might think about stopping by regardless of whether you're staying particularly close by. Picard Beach is one of those beaches which rarely gets too crowded, even though its not far from some of Dominica's best hotspots.

You could park at Ross University and walk to this beach or you could look for the access road off Ross Blvd.

Amenities and Ambiance

On flat land and near some development, this is not one of Dominica's prettiest or most secluded beaches, but it does provide a convenient spot to take a swim in the warm Caribbean waters if you're headed to or from Portsmouth.

Lots of visitors here find that the on-site snack bar is just fine for lunch. You might also have the option to try local specialties from one of the mobile vendors who typically set up at this spot.

Please note that public restrooms are not available, but you may be able to find facilities at a nearby business.

Be mindful that the area surrounding Picard Beach is highly urbanized, so make sure to get a spot!

Picard Beach is always a lovely side-trip when you're in the area. Look for it on Dominica's North West coast. It is near Fort Shirley, which is found two and a half miles to the north, and it is one of a few attractions close-by.
