Rainforest Riding Dominica

Rainforest Riding owner Valerie Francis provides her horses with eight acres of land for their enjoyment. Happy horses offer guests a picturesque ride through several landscapes in the area.

Cost and Offerings

Ten local ponies, thoroughbreds, St. Lucian horses, and her own home-bred equestrian friends. Valerie Francis is a professional guide who leads small groups on horseback. Guests can choose to trot along the beach, enter the forest, or explore Cabrits National Park. On the beach, the horses and guests can cool down with a dip in the shallows of Purple Turtle Beach. The forest tour explores the Waitukubuli National Trail which offers wetlands and swamp sights that house a diverse population of wildlife. If guests prefer to explore Cabrits, this is a day long trip that traverses many historical ruins and sites. For those who would like to see Carbits on a less time consuming tour, there is an option to explore the fort level, roaming around the Commandant's Quarters.

Beach rides are about 2.5 hours and cost $60. Cabrits National Park adventures are 4-5 hours, costing $100. The shorter Carbits adventure costs $75. Forest rides cost $45 for 1.5 hours and $30 for half hour rides. All prices are in USD.

Most tours leave at 9 a.m. or 2 p.m. for an afternoon trip.
