At 28 square miles, Providenciales is the third largest island of the Turks and Caicos chain. You can travel from one end of the island to the other and find plenty to keep you busy from museums and historic landmarks, to beaches and parks. There is even a single casino for those who enjoy playing games of chance.
You'll find an abundance of beaches to choose from on the island. Snorkeling is an option at some locations, for vacationers who enjoy this relaxing pastime. Just click on the beach names for a detailed review of that individual beach.
If you are looking for a place to snorkel, a location where that's an option is Grace Bay Beach. Grace Bay Beach is often considered one of the best in the Caribbean for its perfect blue waters and powdery white sands, and in 2013, TripAdvisor went so far as to name it the second best beach in the world. The beach reclaimed this title in 2014, proving its consistency.
Another top pick for snorkeling fans is Blue Haven Beach. Great for those looking to escape the crowds of Grace Bay, Leeward Beach offers a long coast, bright white sand, and sapphire blue water. With just the occasional villa, and with the only resorts you'll see being at the horizon, Leeward Beach is a conveniently located, but quiet beach.
Davy Bight Beach: Bright turquoises waters line the shores of Davy Bight Beach, which are powdered with white sand. Though resort guests often speckle the landscape, for the most part the beach remains relatively uncrowded.
These are just a few of what's on the island. Readers can obtain more information here.
If you enjoy experiencing the historical roots of an unfamiliar place, you should consider visiting a historical site during your vacation.
A common landmark for vacationers is Cheshire Hall. It is found within Five Cays Settlements, in central Providenciales. Tours are offered of the plantation Monday through Saturday from 8:30am until 4:30pm.
Another common landmark for vacationers is Wades Green Plantation. It is located within North Caicos, Northeast of Providenciales. What remains of the plantation today is ruins of the main stone house, several outbuildings, and the walls that surround the property. Unpaved paths lead through the ruins, which can make it a slightly difficult trek, but there are tiled plaques describing the buildings and their significance.

It is located within Bringamosa, Providenciales. The Hole is just that -- a hole in the ground on the island of Providenciales from which visitors are lowered down by rope to swim in the waters of Long Bay.
