Puerto Morelos is typified by the mangrove swamps which divide the town into different sections.  Residents see these swamps as part of every day life, but to tourists they are a great way to experience local flora and fauna.  A stroll along the shore is another great way to spend some time outdoors, but for more extensive eco-tourism options, you may consider a few day trips while making this town your quiet home base.

Nature Preserves and Hiking

Do you want to enjoy part of your vacation outdoors? You might be happy to learn the area has two different nature preserves in and nearby.
