Dorada Beach

Dorada Beach is located in Puerto Plata in one of the largest resort areas on the island. This, coupled with the fact that this beach is great for watersports such a kite boarding and water skiing makes this beach consummately crowded. Just off shore is some of the best snorkeling on the island, but strong currents from the Atlantic means this beach is not one of the best for swimming.

Set in Playa Dorada, Dorada Beach is on the North edge of the Dominican Republic. You should consider dropping by whether or not you're staying in the immediate vicinity. Peace and quiet is what you'll find at the majority of the Dominican Republic's beaches, but at Dorada Beach, you'll find the same sense of serenity, without having to travel too far from the buzz of the city.

How to Access The Beach
This beach is located just east of Puerto Plata.

Amenities and Ambiance

Swaying palm trees line the golden shore of Dorada Beach, which features deep navy colored waters. It boasts Blue Flag Certification and has been ranked as one of the top beaches in the world by Fodors in 2014.

If you're suddenly hungry or thirsty, the concession stand at Dorada Beach is the ultimate convenience. Sometimes, visitors will be able to get lunch from one of the mobile vendors who typically set up at this spot.

You will be able to use a public restroom at Dorada Beach.

With that said, you will need to remember that even though there are some comforts on location at Dorada Beach, it will be found inside a popular area that can get crowded. As such, if you think the amenities make or break a trip, naturally, it's an appropriate motivator to get there in the morning before the crowds do or going to a beach in a more remote area. If you arrive later, you could possibly lose the chance to fully enjoy all the services that the beach offers.
