Isabel de Torres National Park

Do you want to enjoy more of your vacation under the open sky? You may be happy to find out that the area has a popular nature preserve nearby.

Isabel de Torres National Park is a great nature preserve located 3.8 mi. South of central Puerto Plata. Visitors to the site will find a variety of ways to explore the area. The two most popular are simply hiking through the forest and mountains, and taking a cable car up the mountain right to the statue.

Waterfalls

Twenty-Seven Waterfalls of Damajagua

Even though most visitors to the area are drawn by the beautiful coastline, those aren't the only way to enjoy the area's natural wonders. The one example is Twenty-Seven Waterfalls of Damajagua. It is located 10.1 mi. West-Southwest of central Puerto Plata. <p>These waterfalls are less a natural experience as much an extreme attraction. Gear up in a life jacket and helmet and climb, jump, and swim in these large collection of pools and falls.</p>
