This large park was once nearly bare of all trees, thanks to an aggressive logging industry on the island in the early 1900's. Thankfully, the park was established and a replanting movement went underway, and now this forest has reclaimed 5000 acres of land.
Visitors to the park will be treated to a large selection of nature trails that will take them down the very roads used by the loggers around a century ago. Hikers will have plenty of opportunities to see plenty of birds and other wildlife as the twist through the forest.
