While not the most popular of Puerto Rico's natural attractions, the park at Toro Negro Forest offers a varied experience for hikers looking for a day of sightseeing and trail blazing.
There are nearly a dozen different trail patterns you can take, with some short and sweet and others long. Some of the trails will take you by ruins and hills offering fantastic views, while other will take you into hidden clearings with waterfalls.
Bosque Estatal De Toro Negro can be found near the middle of the island of Puerto Rico; it is 11 miles (17 and a half kilometers) to the north-northeast of Ponce.

There are no official hours for the park, especially since campers will be staying overnight. However, the ranger office does have hours. It is open Monday through Friday from 7:30am until 4:00pm.
There is no admission for those that want to enter the park. If you are looking to camp, though, you will need to pay a fee per person that varies throughout the year.
