Cabo Rojo Lighthouse

The Cabo Rojo Lighthouse was originally built in 1881 on a limestone cliff 200 feet above the sea. In 1967, Puerto Rico refurbished the property and made the light automated. Even more recently, the lighthouse was renovated again, leaving many to wonder how much remains of historical significance. Still gorgeous views of the Atlantic are to be had from the top of this lighthouse.

What to Expect

Although the Cabo Rojo Lighthouse is small, there are a few reasons to check out it. These include the view and the tiny art museum located inside the lighthouse on the bottom floor.

After the most recent renovation, the lighthouse was indeed left looking fresh and newly built, though homage to the original structure in the form of gray paint with white trim was paid.
