Though the Taste of Rum in Puerto Rico is an annual festival that centers on the promotion and advancement of Puerto Rican rums, it is more than just a place to go and sample rum. Instead, it is a relative culture-fest featuring live music, culinary masterpieces, and rums from around the Caribbean.
The Taste of Rum is so popular that the event saw attendance nearly double between 2010 and 2011. The Taste of Rum takes place in the spring of each year (past years have seen the event held in March and May), at Pasea la Princessa, Viejo San Juan. For two days, attendees have the opportunity to sample regional food and rum, attend seminars, and enjoy live music between the hours of 4 p.m. and 10 p.m. on Saturday, and 3 p.m. and 9 p.m. on Sunday.
