Guajataca State Forest

Famous for the caves that are a product of the karst formations underground, the Guajataca State Forest is a popular destination for anyone looking to head underground.

The area is littered with a number of cavers that are luckily not flooded, and open to the public. Visitors to the park will be able to take several trails, some that lead tot he caves, and other that lead to high hills that provide hikers with some fantastic sights of the surrounding area.

Anyone driving to the Guajataca State Forest will be able to find plenty of parking at the designated parking area off of PR-446, at the front of the park.

Guajataca State Forest is located on the western part of the island of Puerto Rico, 6.2 miles south-southeast of Isabela; it's 4.8 miles to the south west of Quebradillas.

While most of the trails are open everyday, the visitors center and other ranger facilities are only open from 9:00am until 5:00pm Tuesday through Sunday.
